Turkey Bacon Meatloaf
This tasty meatloaf comes from Julia - it's a very tasty, simple meatloaf that would pair really well with a whole variety of veggies and legumes (steamed broccoli, a cauliflower puree, or bean salad are all naturals). Thanks much, Julia!
Ingredients
- ground turkey - 1 1/2 lbs
- egg - 1 whole
- bacon - 5-6 slices
- salt
- pepper
- garlic & onion seasoning
Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut 5-6 slices raw bacon into small chunks. Mix 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey, 1 raw egg and bacon pieces together in bowl. Add salt, pepper, garlic & onion seasoning to taste. Transfer to glass baking dish, (no need to grease dish first), spread evenly in pan. Top with 3-4 slices raw bacon. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for approx. 40 min. Turn oven to 450 degrees and finish baking 10-15 min. until bacon on top is crisp.
There will be a lot of bacon grease in baking dish. Remove meatloaf , slice and serve accordingly. Turkey doesn't dry out and tastes delicious! Gotta Love Bacon.
very good. my eight year old LOVED it
gonna try this tonight! thanks for the recipe.
I used turkey bacon & the bits in the loaf were not cooked (or at least not crispy) I assume since they we’re cooking in the loaf they’re prob ok but might crisp before adding or just stick with the bacon on top. Oh yeah I also added cooked onions & worcester suace to add flavor & moisture
